15th Altamira International Music Festival Bale-Valle Armonica 2026.
27.6.2026.-5.7.2026.
Set within the unique atmosphere of Bale’s historic old town, Bale once again becomes a stage for outstanding musical encounters from June 27 to July 5, 2026. The 15th edition of the Altamira International Music Festival Bale-Valle Armonica brings nine days of concerts, artistic exchanges, and an international guitar competition that has become a recognized part of the town’s cultural identity over the years.
The festival will officially open on June 27 in Tomaso Bembo Square with a concert by the Gorizia Guitar Orchestra conducted by Maestro Claudio Pio Liviero, featuring soprano Ivana Sant.
This year’s programme once again offers a rich variety of musical experiences. Audiences will enjoy a blend of traditional and contemporary European music through the concert “Detox of Ancient and New Europe” by Concerto con D’Esperanto, the jazz sounds of the Accordeon Jazz Trio, a harp recital by Emma Castellano, and French chansons performed by the Monika Bajer Quartet. The programme also includes a concert by guitarist Neno Munitić and a performance by Duo Marco and Michele Di Lena, who will present “Echoes of the Centuries: A Dialogue Between the Ancient and the Modern” through guitar and cello.
A special highlight of the festival is the 10th International Competition “Bale-Valle Armonica”, which will take place on July 4 and 5. The competition brings together young guitarists from different countries and provides an opportunity to showcase emerging musical talents. Alongside the award ceremony, audiences will have the chance to hear a concert by last year’s winner, Japanese guitarist Ayaka Mukaiyama, as well as the final concert of this year’s competition winner.
The festival’s closing evening on July 5 will feature the final round of the Concert Performer Category, the awards ceremony, and a special concert by renowned guitarist Adriano Del Sal.
Over the past fifteen years, the Bale-Valle Armonica Festival has earned a reputation as an international gathering place for musicians, educators, and classical guitar enthusiasts. In the unique setting of Bale’s historic centre, concerts in Tomaso Bembo Square and the competition programme continue to connect artists and audiences through music that transcends borders and generations.
Admission to all festival events is free.
