International Music Festival Bale-Valle Armonica 2025

International Music Festival Bale-Valle Armonica 2025

The beautiful setting of Piazza Tomaso Bembo in Bale-Valle is ready to host the 14th edition of the International Music Festival “Bale-Valle Armonica”, organized by the Mauro Giuliani Guitar Center Association of Gorizia, in close cooperation with the Municipality of Bale-Valle. The artistic direction is curated by Maestro Claudio Pio Liviero. The Festival offers a series of high-level concerts featuring internationally renowned orchestras, soloists, and ensembles, as well as the 9th edition of the International Music Competition. The Festival opens on Saturday, June 28, with a concert by the “Gorizia Guitar Orchestra”, a unique ensemble of only guitars performing well-known pieces from both classical and modern repertoires, featuring the special participation of soprano Ivana Sant. On Sunday, June 29, the “Athanor Guitar Quartet” will take the stage with a program of musical arrangements of famous works. Monday, June 30, will feature the “GO25! JAZZ DUO”, with Giampaolo Mrach on accordion and Giulio Scaramella on piano, delivering an improvisation-filled performance based on some of the world’s most iconic jazz themes. On Tuesday, July 1, the star of Piazza Bembo will be the Big Band “Gone with the Swing”, conducted by Maestro Raoul Nadalutti, offering a dynamic program full of swing, characteristic of American music from the 1930s and 1940s. Wednesday, July 2, the “Specular Crossing” duo, composed of Axel Boch on guitar and Fabio Jegher on drums and percussion, will present an original musical program featuring works by Brazilian composer Laurindo Almeida. On Thursday, July 3, the festival will host the “Eminent Duo”, with Japanese violinist Moeko Sugiura and Slovenian guitarist Nejc Kuhan – an exceptional duo performing both classical and contemporary works, some composed by the musicians themselves. Friday, July 4, the evening will be dedicated to the absolute winners of two international guitar competitions: the “Altamira Competition” held in Bale-Valle in 2024, and the “Altamira Mercatali Competition” held in Gorizia in May 2025. The concert will feature performances by Sara Celardo (winner of the 2024 Bale-Valle competition) and Leon Ravnikar (winner of the 2025 Gorizia competition), who will perform works by major guitar composers. Saturday, July 5, the great Bulgarian guitarist David Dyakov, winner of over 25 international competitions, will perform a program featuring some of the most famous Spanish guitar music. The Festival concludes on Sunday, July 6, with a final concert by the winners of the 2025 Bale-Valle competition. During this closing evening, in the presence of the newly elected Mayor of Bale-Valle, Dr. Andrea Modrušan, and the Mayor of Gorizia, Dr. Rodolfo Ziberna, the awards ceremony will take place, with the announcement of the winner of the ninth edition of the competition.

All concerts are free of charge and start at 9:00 PM.
